We’re hiring a Head of Data Science 🚀
Current Product Status
Our AI-powered retail discovery platform is now live on the App Store following beta testing with 2,000+ users. Since full launch just a few weeks ago, we’ve grown to ~1,000 active users.
The platform enables two powerful discovery methods:
• Natural language search (describe what you’re looking for)
• Visual search (upload an image to find similar items)
As we scale, visual search is our top product priority.
We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader who can deliver across three core areas within six months:
- Support and optimize the existing system
- Drive roadmap feature development
- Build and implement production-ready AI systems
Primary Requirement: Deep expertise in computer vision
Secondary but essential: Conversational AI + data transformation
This is not a narrow research role. We need someone with broad AI fluency across:
• Generative AI
• Conversational AI
• LLaMA and large model ecosystems
• Data transformation & data engineering
• Production ML systems
We work with:
• Structured & unstructured retail data
• Labeled image datasets
• Unlabeled conversational history (feedback integration is on our roadmap)
You must be comfortable with:
• AWS, Python, CI/CD, Terraform
• Production ML pipelines
• Embeddings, transfer learning, teacher-student learning
• Large vision models and optimization for scale
Red flags:
• Generic “we’ll just improve the model” thinking
• Only knowing basic PyTorch without broader ecosystem knowledge
• No real-world deployment or scalability experience
Team Environment
• Data science team: 3 (
• Engineering team: 7
• Highly collaborative, execution-focused culture
We need someone who can mentor junior team members, guide architecture decisions, and ship.
