About Proplead
Today, Proplead is an AI-powered CRM for real estate agents: agents capture, qualify and follow up on leads through WhatsApp with an AI assistant that works for them. But that's the product's current positioning. It may well evolve, and whoever joins as co-founder will be part of that decision.
The product is live, with real users and one full-time founder. We're currently focused on the Spanish market, and the expansion plan is clear: we're launching in two more markets, one Spanish-speaking and one English-speaking. We also have other products in the pipeline that we expect to launch across these markets too.
The role
This is primarily a technical role. We're looking for someone who owns the product end to end and builds fast with AI, but who also has the business instinct to operate as a true co-founder, not just an engineer taking tickets.
In practice, that means most of your time goes into building, with a real seat at the table on where the company goes.
- An AI-native builder (the core of the role): someone who uses AI as a multiplier across their entire workflow (Claude Code, agents, etc.) and can take an idea to a production feature in days, not weeks.
- A co-founder, not an employee: you'll also get involved in customer conversations and business decisions, and have genuine say in the direction of the company. You don't need to run sales or marketing, but you do need the judgment to weigh in on them.
What you'll do
- Design, build and ship product features end to end (frontend, backend, integrations). This is the bulk of the role.
- Define the architecture and technical strategy as we scale into new markets and new products.
- Co-decide the direction of the product and the company, including positioning, expansion and new products.
- Take part in customer conversations and market research so your technical decisions stay grounded in what the business actually needs.
What we're looking for
- Extreme command of AI tools for building software. This is the number one requirement. We want to see how you work with AI, not just that you "use" it.
- Demonstrable shipping speed: side projects, launched MVPs, real things we can touch.
- Product judgment: knowing what to build and what not to, not just how.
- Full autonomy: zero supervision, full ownership.
- Business instinct: enough curiosity about the market and comfort talking to customers to make good calls as a co-founder. You don't need a sales background, but a pure heads-down coder with no interest in the business isn't the right fit.
- Fluent Spanish and English. Our current customers speak Spanish, and our expansion includes an English-speaking market. The tech ecosystem and future fundraising also run in English.
You don't need to know our current stack (React, TypeScript, Firebase, Twilio/WhatsApp API). The stack may change; judgment and speed won't.
Compensation: let's be upfront
Full transparency:
- This position is not salaried today. There's no salary until the business can sustain one. If your situation doesn't allow you to work without a salary for a while, this role isn't for you, and we completely understand.
- Significant equity with standard vesting (4 years, 1-year cliff), negotiated during the process, with milestone-based increases tied to product and business goals we'll agree on together.
- Salary activates on a revenue milestone: once the company passes a target MRR (a specific number we'll put in writing), both founders start drawing a salary. No back pay and no accrued deferred salary. The unpaid period is compensated through equity, which is where the real upside is.
- Everything above gets formalised in a founders' agreement before you join: commitment, vesting, milestones, and what happens if either of us walks away.
Commitment: you can start part-time alongside other work (a real ~15–20 h/week minimum), with the commitment to go full-time once salaries kick in. If you can go full-time from day one, even better.
Process
- Intro conversation (personal fit and vision), held in Spanish.
- Live build session: you build something real with your AI tools while sharing your screen.
- Conversation about equity, milestones and commitment.
- Trial period working together on something real (2–4 weeks) before signing anything.
