Audio Visual Residential Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and support residential AV systems including multi-room audio, home cinema, video distribution, and control systems.

  • Configure and troubleshoot platforms such as Control4, Crestron, Lutron, Savant, or similar.

  • Install and terminate structured cabling (Cat6/7, fibre, speaker cable).

  • Work closely with project managers, designers, and clients to deliver seamless installations.

  • Conduct system testing, fault-finding, and final handover demonstrations.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, drawings, and project notes.

  • Provide ongoing support and occasional call-outs when required.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in residential AV installation or a similar technical field.

  • Strong understanding of home networking, Wi-Fi systems, and IP-based technologies.

  • Confident working with tools, cable management, and rack building.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Professional, client-facing communication style.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills

  • Certification or hands-on experience with Control4, Crestron, Lutron, Savant, KNX, or similar systems.

  • Experience with home cinema calibration, acoustic treatments, or advanced networking.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and wiring schematics.
