Freelance Home Integration Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Execute on-site installation, programming, and commissioning of smart home systems.
• Collaborate with the client's internal teams and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met.
• Interpret and work from technical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Configure and integrate AV, lighting, HVAC, shading, and security systems.
• Conduct system testing, fault-finding, and quality assurance checks.
• Lead or coordinate with on-site personnel to ensure project execution aligns with specifications.
• Attend site meetings and provide regular updates to the client's project team.
• Deliver clear and comprehensive documentation for system handover.

Candidate Profile - Essential Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in smart home installation and integration.
• Proven proficiency with Control4, Lutron HomeWorks QS/QSX, or similar systems.
• Solid knowledge of IP networking, AV distribution, and structured cabling.
• Strong technical problem-solving and system troubleshooting abilities.
• Confident communicator with a professional and empathetic approach.
• Capable of working independently and taking ownership of end-to-end delivery.

Preferred (Not Required):

• Industry certifications (Control4, Lutron, Crestron, etc.).
• Experience in luxury residential projects or high-end AV environments.
• Familiarity with KNX, DALI, or other automation standards.
• Relevant on-site qualifications (e.g., CSCS, ECS, or equivalent).
