Principal Workforce Systems Data Analyst

This is your opportunity to be part of that change.You will:o Produce information from a variety of systems and turn complex workforce data into clear insight, trends and compelling narrativeo Challenge existing approaches and help develop smarter ways of working.o Improve data quality and how our workforce systems work together.o Work closely with IT, Data, Finance, Transformation and other teams, giving you fantastic exposure across the organisation.o Manage workforce reporting for the Board, Committees and Groups, as well as national workforce data returns.o Use a range of systems including Access HR, ESR, OLM, EASY Pay, Trac and e-rostering.o Lead and develop a workforce data and systems team.If you're someone who enjoys asking "what does the data really tell us?", likes to bring new ideas and turn insight into action, this is an opportunity to make your mark and help shape what workforce information looks like for the future.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the quality of information held on workforce information systems that will be used to provide the workforce reporting needs. Maintaining and updating systems as required. Ensuring action is taken to improve and maintain data accuracy.
The role is responsible for the day-to-day management (recruitment, appraisal, discipline, performance and absence management) of the workforce team and other team members as required.
The postholder will need highly developed specialist theoretical knowledge and practical experience in undertaking data analysis with both quantitative and qualitative data. The analysis will involve highly complex, sensitive or contentious datasets, potentially conflicting and incomplete data or where expert opinion may differ and willrequire the creative application of techniques and approaches for which no precedent exists.

Person Specification
Education
- Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline which relates to workforce information, business information systems, data analysis and similar or to have developed knowledge and skills to an equivalent standard.
- Highly developed specialist knowledge acquired through a combination of in-depth experience and postgraduate study (Masters level qualification) or equivalent demonstrable knowledge in one of these areas; analytical techniques, workforce systems or electronic HR Systems.
- Prince2 or similar accreditation
Experience
- Extensive Workforce Information Analysis experience Knowledge of the applications and use of role workforce Information systems and analysis within HR specifically and organisations more widely.
- Knowledge and understanding of the role of confidentiality policies, GDPR, Data Protection Act within a workforce analytics setting.
- ESR knowledge
