Python Developer

Provide are looking for a Mid-Senior Python Engineer to join our clients fast-growing fintech team, where you will play a key role in building secure, scalable, and high-performance financial platforms. Working primarily with Python and Django, you'll design and maintain Back End services, APIs, and integrations that power Real Time payments, compliance workflows, and customer-facing applications. You will collaborate with product managers, data teams, and Front End engineers to deliver new features that meet both business and regulatory requirements. As a senior contributor, you'll also help shape best practices, review code, and mentor junior engineers across the team.

The ideal candidate has strong professional experience with Python, Django, and RESTful APIs, and a solid understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable. Familiarity with financial systems, security standards, or regulatory compliance (eg PCI DSS, PSD2) will be a distinct advantage. Requirements & Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3+ years using Python and Django in production.

• Strong experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and Back End systems.

• Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and experience with data modelling and query optimisation.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerisation tools such as Docker/Kubernetes.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code quality tools.

• Understanding of software engineering principles: scalability, security, maintainability, and performance.

• Strong collaboration and mentoring skills; able to guide junior engineers and promote best practices across the team.

• Bonus: experience in fintech, payments, trading systems, or regulated financial environments, and familiarity with security/compliance standards (PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR).
