Public Health Wales is expanding its IT Operations team and recruiting a Digital Project Manager to help deliver improvements across our digital infrastructure.

Main duties of the job

In this new roleyou'llwork closely with the Senior Digital Project Manager and experienced technical colleagues to manage a range of infrastructure and digital projects, including server and network changes, cloud platforms,applicationsandend-userservices.You'llalso contribute to major national andorganisation-widetransformation programmes, such as the National Lung Screening Programme for Wales, ensuring IT Operations delivers its responsibilities effectively.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential
  • Educated to Postgraduate Diploma level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Project and/or Project management office qualification, PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent experience
Desirable
  • Masters level qualification

Experience

Essential
  • Experience of management and managing successful projects.
  • Effective partnership working in the public sector.
  • Experience of effective stakeholder working with external bodies.
Desirable
  • Experience as a formal project manager.
  • Experience of working within the NHS .

Skills & Attributes

Essential
  • Developing and monitoring complex project plans.
  • Developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Project Boards.
  • Track record of problem solving in a project management environment.
  • Competent in the use of desktop applications.
Desirable
  • Advanced IT skills in a range of desktop applications e.g., Excel, Power BI

  • Travel around Wales, and possibly further afield on a regular basis.

  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards.
