The Strategy, Planning and Corporate Affairs Division has a unique role to play in leading and enabling Public Health Wales in the areas of strategy, corporate analytics, programme management and performance.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to help further deliver corporate analytics within the Division providing strong insights and assurance. As the role is available on a fixed term basis for 1 year, a secondment will also be considered.
We are looking for a motivated individual who is committed to delivering actionable insights and passionate about data. You will enjoy working collaboratively to solve business needs and delivering value to stakeholders through analysis. You will have a continuous improvement mindset, be keen to learn modern tools and will always strive to deliver a high-quality service. You will be part of a dynamic and fast-growing team, who have a key role to play in supporting the organisation to deliver its long-term strategy.

responsible for developing visually compelling dashboards and adhoc analysis that deliver actionable insights to improve our services. In addition to new developments, they will also be responsible for the running and maintenance of a suite of monthly business as usual products.
enjoy working with data and have experience using Business Intelligence and data management software. They will have experience working with data and strive for data quality and high standards at all times. They will also have an eye for detail and an aptitude for continuous improvement and learning.
be comfortable working with stakeholders to document user needs and co-design new analytical products and new processes for data collection.
be a key member of a project team migrating existing data and dashboards to the National Data Resource, on the Google Cloud Platform.

Qualifications
- Relevant experience to Master degree level or equivalent professional experience.
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Project management qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Experience of linking complex data sets to derive meaningful analysis.
- Experience of using business intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Alteryx, Microsoft Power BI and Power Automate.
- Experience of validating and quality assuring outputs.
- Experience of statistical analysis of highly complex information.
- Experience of planning workload independently and project management skills
- Ability to manage complex and varying workloads whilst delivering to often tight timescales
- Experience and understanding of data quality issues (including resolution of such issues).
- Significant experience of databases/data modelling tools within an information environment.
- Experience of providing and presenting highly complex information to clinicians and senior managers.
- Experience of providing specialist advice on highly complex information issues
- Experience of using business intelligence tools to provide meaningful insight to a range of audiences.
- Experience in project management, including Agile Project Management techniques
Skills
- Advanced IT skills with high level of experience of using Microsoft Office applications.
- Advanced IT and analytical skills with an in-depth knowledge of IT tools/systems such as business intelligence tools and systems.
- Excellent verbal, written & presentation skills.
- Ability to speak Welsh or willingness to learn.
Knowledge
- Knowledge and understanding of information governance requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of NHS services and information systems.
- Knowledge of the broad concepts of Value Based Healthcare.
- Knowledge of business intelligence systems.
