Senior Networking Engineer

Job summary

Public Health Wales is expanding its dedicated IT Network Engineering team and recruiting a new, permanent Senior Networking Engineer.

You will assistthe Technical Services Manager in delivering networking services and providingexpertiseacross the trust. Our experienced teammaintainsand develops the trust'sWales-widelocal network infrastructure and deals with escalated queries to enable the delivery of trust programmes.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with our Cloud Team, the role will contribute to the development of Azure Cloud Platform networking, while advances inhigh-speedmobile data and satellite technologies create new opportunities for delivering connectivity tonon-fixedsites.

Essential
  • IT degree or equivalent specialist knowledge and expertise gained through experience or study
  • Commitment to continuing professional development for self
  • Good general knowledge of common hardware and software applications
  • In-depth knowledge of one or more of the following data network technologies: - oRouting & Switching oNetwork Access Control technologies oNetwork monitoring technologies oWireless technologies
Desirable
  • Masters qualification
  • ITIL qualification. CCNP qualification.
  • In-depth knowledge of firewalls
  • Knowledge of modern telephony platform
  • Registered with a relevant informatics professional body
  • Knowledge of: oSIP ocloud telephony osoftware defined networking oCisco Firepower oCisco ISE oCisco Wireless technologies oSolarwinds NPM / IPAM oMitel telephony platform oCisco IOS XE Knowledge of NHS
