Join the world’s leading online news website, reaching over 200 million unique monthly visitors. They are seeking a commercially-minded Technical Project Manager to join their Tech & Product team, embedded within the Commercial division, working on a cutting-edge in-house web platform.

You will manage a team of six JavaScript developers, owning day-to-day scrum/kanban operations and acting as the key liaison between technical teams and commercial stakeholders, from programmatic ad placements to third-party adtech integrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run scrum/kanban ceremonies and manage the delivery pipeline for the commercial development team.
  • Field, scope and prioritise incoming requests, providing technical feasibility assessments.
  • Act as the primary bridge between technical, commercial, and editorial teams, facilitating clear communication and timely decisions.
  • Manage third-party integrations with platforms like Google, Amazon and other adtech partners.
  • Oversee programmatic ad placements, tracking and reporting on ad position data and initiative outcomes.
  • Handle GDPR and data protection elements, including managing the consent banner on-site.
  • Develop project plans and resource schedules while proactively managing risks and dependencies.
  • Report on project status and KPIs to senior stakeholders with clear, actionable insights.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years’ proven project management experience, ideally in a digital or tech environment.
  • Experience running scrum/kanban processes confidently and independently.
  • A foundational understanding of adtech, programmatic advertising or commercial web tech, you don’t need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable in the conversation.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders (and vice versa).
  • Background in publishing, editorial or digital media is a plus.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, project management tools, and governance.
  • Understanding of PRINCE2 or Agile methodologies (Foundation certificates preferred).
  • Organised, proactive and a positive can-do attitude.
