API Integrations Engineer
Overview We are seeking an experienced API Integration Engineer to support a major Salesforce implementation, with a specific focus on integrating Salesforce with multiple student management systems. This role will be central to enabling seamless data exchange across the organisation’s digital ecosystem during a key delivery phase. This is a hands on technical role suited to someone who can quickly understand APIs, build integrations, work with complex data structures, and operate confidently in a fast moving project environment.Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain API integrations between Salesforce and multiple student management systems.
- Build and refine data mappings and transformations using JSON and XML.
- Interpret and utilise API documentation, schemas, and endpoint specifications.
- Use tools such as Postman for testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure that all integrations align with security, GDPR, and data governance requirements.
- Support MVP level integrations initially, with increasing scope and complexity over time.
- Collaborate with technical and functional teams to support end to end integration flows.
- Assist with write back and bi directional data exchange where required.
- Strong experience in API integration development.
- Proficiency in handling JSON, XML, and data transformation workflows.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Postman or similar API testing tools.
- Ability to read, interpret, and implement against API documentation.
- Solid understanding of:
- Data security principles
- GDPR and compliance considerations
- Encryption
- Role-based access control and audit frameworks
- Salesforce integration experience.
- Experience integrating with ISAMS (highly preferred).
- Experience with Tribal EBS.
- Exposure to PowerSchool (beneficial but not required).
- Broader skills such as data engineering or application support to provide long term value beyond the initial integration-heavy phase.
- £40,000–£50,000
- Hybrid preferred: 3 days on-site in Cambridge / 2 days remote
- Fully remote candidates considered, if the successful candidate has the right systems experience
