Finance Systems Analyst

We’re looking for a proactive and forward-thinking Finance Systems Analyst, you will join a team at a pivotal moment, modernise finance systems including moving from a legacy system to a next-generation cloud platform and embedding AI and automation into everyday finance.In this central role, you’ll design, implement, and embed a new core Finance System, while supporting and enhancing the wider suite of finance applications. You’ll act as the critical link between Finance and IT, turning complex business needs into streamlined, scalable solutions that drive continuous improvement.Position insight:

• Provide functional and technical support for Sage 200, its future replacement, and related finance systems.
• Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with vendors on escalated cases.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation.
• Support or lead the implementation of the new cloud finance system, including solution design, configuration, SIT/UAT testing, change management, and cutover.
• Build and maintain insightful reports using Power BI, Power Query, and Excel.
• Develop workflows, templates, and forms that enhance automation and user experience.
• Partner with Finance to design, test, and deliver system improvements.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience supporting finance-related applications and a solid understanding of key financial processes, including AP, AR, GL, and budgeting. They will be hands-on with Power BI, Power Query, and advanced Excel, and able to configure workflows, security roles, and automation features. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires working confidently with both technical teams and finance stakeholders.In addition, it would be advantageous for candidates to have experience selecting or implementing cloud-based finance systems, along with familiarity with system integrations and APIs. Knowledge of SQL or other scripting tools is beneficial but not essential. The ability to evaluate AI use cases, including testing protocols and controls, is also desirable. Exposure to wider business systems, experience in hybrid Finance/IT roles, and an accounting qualification or part-qualification are all valued, though none are mandatory.
