IT Support Engineer (1st/2nd Line) – Temporary Location: Norwich (fully on site)Contract: Temporary, minimum 3 months with potential to extend Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience About the role We're recruiting on behalf of our client for an IT Support Engineer to join their team in Norwich on a temporary basis. This is a hands on role covering mainly 1st line support with some 2nd line responsibilities, working across a fully Microsoft environment including Azure and Intune. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys varied day to day support work and wants to build on their experience in a modern, cloud based Microsoft environment.Key responsibilities
- Provide 1st line support to end users, logging, triaging and resolving incidents and service requests via phone, email and ticketing system
- Escalate and work on 2nd line issues where required, including more complex troubleshooting
- Manage user accounts, permissions and devices using Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Intune
- Build, configure and deploy laptops and desktops, including imaging and application installs
- Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
- Assist with device enrolment, compliance policies and mobile device management through Intune
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and network connectivity issues
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, requests and resolutions within the service desk system
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes for staff, including account and device setup
- Contribute to documentation of processes and known issues for the wider IT team
- Proven experience in an IT support or service desk role, ideally covering both 1st and 2nd line
- Solid working knowledge of the Microsoft stack, including Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Azure AD and Intune
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting hardware, software and basic networking issues
- Good understanding of user account administration and device management in a Microsoft environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non technical users
- A methodical, organised approach with good attention to detail
- Able to work on site in Norwich for the full duration of the contract
- Immediately available or on short notice is preferred, given the temporary nature of the role
