Senior Python Software Engineer Cambridge | Hybrid | Competitive Salary We're working with an innovative technology company seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to build and optimise high-performance data processing systems in a production-focused environment. This role is centred on software engineering rather than modelling, with a strong emphasis on clean code, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and scalable data processing. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain production-grade Python applications.

Build high-throughput data processing pipelines handling large datasets on local server infrastructure.

Design and implement robust multithreaded and multiprocessing solutions.

Write clean, maintainable code within a TDD environment. Optimise performance across CPU, memory, and I/O intensive workloads.

Essential ExperienceStrong commercial Python development experience.

Expert knowledge of multithreading, multiprocessing, and concurrency.

Proven track record working in a Test-Driven Development environment. Experience building scalable, production-focused systems. Strong understanding of software performance optimisation and clean code principles.

Experience working with big data and high-volume processing on localised infrastructure.

DesirableExperience with C++ or Rust.

Distributed systems or parallel processing experience.

Background in scientific, engineering, or industrial software environments.
