UX UI Designer
Product Designer (UX/UI) Location: Cambridge area – hybrid working Salary: Up to £50,000 About the role We are working with a purpose-led technology business that develops digital platforms used across education and public sector environments. They are looking for a Product Designer (UX/UI) to take ownership of the user experience across their learner-facing products. This is a key role within the product team, with a strong emphasis on improving the quality of UI design, establishing clear design standards, and delivering a consistent and accessible experience. The role will suit someone who enjoys working on complex, meaningful products where design has a genuine impact on how people engage and progress.What you will be doing You will be responsible for designing intuitive, high-quality experiences across multiple digital platforms. Key responsibilities include:
- Creating high fidelity UI designs that translate complex workflows into clear and usable interfaces
- Designing end-to-end user journeys that are simple, accessible and engaging
- Ensuring a consistent user experience across different products and user groups
- Developing and maintaining design guidelines and standards to improve consistency and reduce subjectivity
- Working closely with engineering and product teams to bring structure to the design process and deliver high quality outputs
- Using available feedback and insight to inform design decisions and continuously improve the experience
- Demonstrating the impact of your design work through improvements in engagement, usability and progression
- Varying levels of digital confidence
- Diverse learning needs and cognitive profiles
- Low motivation or engagement with education
- Experience in UX/UI or product design
- A strong portfolio showing:
- High quality UI design
- Full user journey thinking
- Evidence of impact from your design work
- Proficiency with Figma or similar tools
- Ability to make informed design decisions using limited direct user feedback
- Confidence working in a structured, standards-driven design environment
- Background in digital learning, knowledge platforms or behaviour-focused products
- Experience designing for users with low engagement or complex needs
- Understanding of accessibility best practice
- Experience working closely with developers
- Ability to create interactive prototypes
