Photocopier / MFD FSE

About the Role
 
We are recruiting on behalf of an established and reputable print solutions provider who is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join their technical team. The successful candidate will support the installation, maintenance, repair and optimisation of multifunction printers (MFPs), photocopiers and print management solutions across a varied customer base. This is a fabulous opportunity for hardware FSEs to diversify into solutions ! 
 
This field-based role covers Warwickshire /Leicestershire / Northampton , working with leading manufacturers devices. You will attend customer sites, ensuring devices operate reliably, efficiently and in line with manufacturer standards.
A full UK driving licence is essential due to regular travel.

Key ResponsibilitiesService & Maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair faults on MFDs, photocopiers, printers and related print infrastructure.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Install, configure and commission new print devices.
  • Replace parts, consumables and assemblies as required.
  • Perform firmware upgrades and device updates.
Technical Support
  • Troubleshoot print quality, scanning, connectivity and configuration issues.
  • Configure devices for network printing, scan-to-email, scan-to-folder and cloud workflows.
  • Support print management solutions such as PaperCut or uniFLOW.
  • Assist with integration into Microsoft 365 environments.
Customer Service
  • Build strong professional relationships with customers.
  • Complete service calls within agreed SLA targets.
  • Communicate clearly regarding faults, repairs and recommendations.
  • Provide user guidance and basic training when required.
Documentation
  • Complete service reports accurately and promptly.
  • Record all work via the service management system.
  • Maintain accurate parts usage and stock records.
  • Escalate recurring technical issues where appropriate.
Health & Safety
  • Follow company health & safety procedures.
  • Maintain vehicle, tools and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Ensure all onsite work is carried out safely and professionally.

Essential Experience & skills 
  • Minimum 2 years' experience supporting Ricoh MFDs or Canon MFDs

Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer within the managed print industry.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability.
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP networking and basic IT troubleshooting.
  • Experience configuring network printers and MFPs.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong organisational and reporting skills.

Desirable
  • PaperCut MF or uniFLOW installation/support experience.
  • Manufacturer accreditations (Ricoh, Canon, Epson).
