Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer

Location: Glasgow, UK (Hybrid)

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical assistance and support for end-users. The candidate will be responsible for resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L1/L2 technical support to end-users for hardware and software issues
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Windows OS, MS Office, and business applications
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access (Active Directory)
  • Support network connectivity issues (LAN/Wi-Fi, VPN)
  • Handle ticketing systems and ensure timely resolution of incidents
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and antivirus updates
  • Assist in IT asset management and inventory tracking
  • Provide support for email systems (Outlook, Office 365)
  • Maintain documentation of issues, solutions, and processes

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS (Windows 10/11)
  • Experience with MS Office / Office 365
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory & user management
  • Understanding of network basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting (desktops, laptops, printers)
  • Familiarity with remote support tools (AnyDesk, TeamViewer, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
