Location: Birmingham, UK
Duration: 12 months to start with- Fixed Term Contract
We are looking for a skilled Windows Administrator who can keep our customers infrastructure running smoothly while contributing to their cloud and IT service management initiatives. If you enjoy solving problems, improving systems, and working across teams, this role gives you plenty of room to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (2016/2022).
· Oversee Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related core services.
· Assist with AWS administration, including EC2, IAM, S3, VPC, and monitoring.
· Participate in patching, updates, and system hardening to meet security standards.
· Use ServiceNow for incident, problem, and change management workflows.
· Create and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and configurations.
· Collaborate with security, networking, and application teams to resolve issues and deliver improvements.
· Contribute to automation efforts using PowerShell and Ansible.
· Monitor system performance and proactively address capacity or reliability concerns.
Required Skills & Experience
· Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server administration.
· Solid understanding of Active Directory and core Windows infrastructure services.
· Working knowledge of AWS services (EC2, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, VPC).
· Experience using ServiceNow for ITSM processes.
· Familiarity with virtualization platforms (Hyper‐V).
· Ability to write and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts.
· Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing).
· Strong documentation and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills
· Exposure to Infrastructure‐as‐Code tools (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation).
· Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SCOM).
· Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks.
· Certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, or ITIL Foundation.
