First Line IT Apprentice

Responsibilities:

  • Providing end user support, both internally and to clients via telephone and email
  • Building computers and profile user accounts onto machines
  • Installing and configure software for users
  • Setting up printers for users
  • Handling password issues
  • Keeping customers regularly updated on open tickets
  • Completing scheduled tickets in a timely manner
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed within the parameters and guidance of our ISO 27001 standard (candidates will receive training on this)
  • Liaising with third party suppliers to resolve issues where appropriate
  • Escalating tickets where required to the Senior 1st and 2nd Line teams
  • PC builds

  • A reliable individual who enjoys working autonomously
  • A genuine interest in technology, with the enthusiasm to continuously develop skillset
  • The ability to build rapport and relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers
  • High degree of accuracy and a keen eye for detail
  • Self motivated, enthusiastic and works well within the team  

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours: The successful candidate will initially work 8:45am - 5:15pm, Monday to Friday, with a 1 hour lunch break.
