IT Support Apprentice

Based in our Sheffield office, we are looking for an IT Support Apprentice to join our team. This role is integral to providing first-class technical support to our clients, ensuring optimal performance of VoIP and IT services. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background predominantly in VoIP, coupled with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for telecommunications services, resolving issues promptly and thoroughly.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to network and VoIP systems.
  • Monitor and maintain the performance of customers systems and services.
  • Conduct regular system checks and updates to ensure the highest level of service and reliability.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to enhance system capabilities and address systemic issues.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and industry best practices to recommend improvements.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, issues, and resolutions using our case system and database.

Required skills:

  • Proven experience in VoIP support and networking, with knowledge on VoIP technologies.
  • Experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear instructions to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality customer service.

The following experience would be beneficial (but not essential):

  • Familiarity with IT and MSP support advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in managing and supporting remote users and office networks.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions for users on new systems and features.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL frameworks.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact customers.

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

Non-standard entry with work experience:

Relevant qualifications and/or work experience will be considered for applicants with potential to benefit from the programme.

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
