About the role:
We are seeking a capable and motivated developer with experience in full-stack or front-end development, to join our development team as part of a Level 3 Apprenticeship. The successful candidate will work directly on the design and development of a modern ERP system, contributing to core functionality used across the business.
This is a hands-on role intended for individuals who already have practical development experience and are ready to formalise their skills within a structured apprenticeship while delivering real commercial value.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and extend features within a business-critical ERP system
- Work across both frontend and backend codebases
- Build and consume APIs and data-driven services
- Operate within Linux-based and Dockerised environments
- Collaborate closely with other developers and technical leadership
- Apply best practices in code quality, security, and performance
- Balance apprenticeship learning requirements with real project delivery
Required skills:
- Strong technical curiosity and problem-solving ability
- A professional, reliable approach to development work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Clear ambition to progress into a long-term software engineering role
- Someone who enjoys building systems that actually get used
- Backend: PHP
- Frontend: js
- Languages: TypeScript
- Database: PostgreSQL
- Operating Systems: Strong working knowledge of Linux environments
- Containerisation: Docker (development and deployment)
While not essential, the following experience would be advantageous:
- ERP, CRM, or large-scale business systems
- RESTful API design
- Git-based workflows
- CI/CD pipelines
- Basic understanding of system architecture and data integrity
Entry requirements:
- 7 GCSEs total
- English GCSE grade D or above
- Other 6 GCSEs, including Maths, to be C or above
- You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
