Machine Learning Engineer

At Qualify Nation Recruitment, we partner with forward-thinking organisations tackling complex, high-impact challenges across AI, cyber security, and data.

We’re currently supporting a leading UK technology consultancy in hiring a Machine Learning Engineer—someone ready to move beyond theory and into real-world impact.

This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI solutions, contribute to meaningful projects, and grow within an environment that values curiosity, innovation, and long-term development.

The Opportunity

You’ll join a multidisciplinary team of engineers, analysts, and domain experts working on advanced AI and data-driven systems.

Your work will focus on turning complex data into actionable insight—supporting decision-making, improving systems, and solving real-world challenges across security, technology, and digital transformation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing, building, and deploying machine learning models for real-world applications
  • Working with large language models (LLMs) to develop intelligent systems and tools
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate AI into production environments
  • Conducting research, experimentation, and rapid prototyping
  • Implementing MLOps best practices (CI/CD, monitoring, retraining pipelines)
  • Translating business and stakeholder needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Continuously improving AI/ML systems, frameworks, and performance

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for individuals who combine strong technical ability with curiosity and a problem-solving mindset.

  • Strong Python skills
  • Experience building ML models using frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs (prompting, RAG, fine-tuning, agents)
  • Understanding of MLOps principles and tools (e.g. MLflow, DVC, Weights & Biases)
  • Experience deploying solutions in AWS or cloud environments
  • Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, and version control (Git)
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into practical AI solutions
  • Passion for staying up to date with the latest AI/ML developments

Who This Role Is Ideal For

  • You want to work on meaningful, real-world AI challenges
  • You enjoy both research and practical implementation
  • You’re comfortable collaborating across technical and non-technical teams
  • You’re looking for long-term career growth, not just your next role
  • You thrive in environments where innovation and autonomy are encouraged

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive salary + benefits package
  • Hybrid working model (Woking + remote flexibility)
  • Exposure to AI, Cyber, Cloud, and Big Data projects
  • A collaborative, high-performing team environment
  • Clear progression pathways and ongoing development support
  • Opportunity to work on projects with real impact and scale

Location

Woking (Hybrid)

You’ll be based partly in a modern, well-connected office location, with flexibility to work remotely and occasional collaboration on-site.

Additional Requirements

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be:

  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Willing and able to undergo security clearance if required
