Quant Capital is urgently looking for a talented Senior Linux Engineer to join our client’s Quant Systems team in London.
Our client is a well-known and highly regarded organization in the high-performance trading and research infrastructure space. We are currently seeking motivated individuals with a strong background in Linux systems and extensive experience managing complex, large-scale compute environments.
As a Senior Linux Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, maintaining, and optimizing the client’s advanced technology platforms that support both trading and research operations. This hands-on technical role offers the chance to work in an inclusive, collaborative, and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of cutting-edge infrastructure, including Linux-based systems, high-performance computing clusters, storage solutions, networking, and development tools.
- Contribute to diverse technology projects, including workload orchestration, system monitoring, distributed storage architecture, SDLC processes, and performance optimization for both kernel and network components.
- Enhance system performance for mission-critical, low-latency, and data-intensive applications.
- Oversee the infrastructure for large-scale distributed systems, high-performance compute environments, and vast storage arrays.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues, leveraging advanced diagnostic and monitoring tools.
- Continuously improve infrastructure by implementing automation, streamlining workflows, and driving efficiency across the technology stack.
What We Are Looking For:
- A degree in computer science or a related technical field, combined with 10-20 years of experience in system engineering or similar roles.
- Expertise in Linux systems administration, with advanced knowledge of configuration management tools and practices.
- Strong proficiency in Python, with familiarity in other languages like Go, Rust, or C being advantageous.
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, software deployment automation, and managing the software development lifecycle.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with hands-on experience in using diagnostic and tracing tools to resolve system issues.
- Experience working with distributed systems, large-scale computing environments, and high-performance storage is highly preferred.
