SQL DBA Fintech70,000 + benefitsQuant Capital is urgently looking for a SQL DBA with ideally some Sybase to join our high profile client.Our client is a well known Algo Order Management and Execution Business. This role sits in the Algo development team who work on perfecting and improving clients Algorithms.The database administration team at consists of two members of staff who are responsible for all areas of the SQL Server and SAP ASE database infrastructure. The database estate at consists of around 100 SQL Server instances, (all versions from 2005 to 2016) and 20+ SAP ASE 15.7 instances running on Oracle Linux.The main responsibilities of the SQL DBA are:Specialization in SQL Server development and administration, with ability to cover SAP ASEStrategy for new databases globally, including hardware and storage designCapacity planning for new and existing systemsWorking closely with developers, advising on SQL code optimisations and database designNew database installations, upgrades and migrationsConfigure and monitor database backup policiesRelease database changes to UAT and production environmentsMaintain appropriate database security policiesDevelopment of SQL-based automation systemsSQL DBA’s / SQL Database Administrators MUST have:4 years experience as a DBAExperience of Administration of a SQL Server estateDevelopment of automation systems for the SQL estateIdeally Fluency in T-SQLSome SybaseTroubleshooting and resolving database performance issuesUnderstanding of underlying systems, including networks and SAN storageAutomation of database maintenance tasksDatabase designExposure to Unix and Windows ServersMy client is based in LondonThe environment is that of Facebook or Google, relaxed open with time to think and make the right decisions.
