R&D engineer, MRI biomarkers, maternity cover

Company Description

Quantified Imaging is a university spin-out company developing MRI biomarkers for clinical trials and patient care, with a particular focus on dementia. Our objective is to enable precision medicine in brain disease. We are awaiting FDA approval on our first clinical product, are licensed into multiple clinical trials, and have numerous academic collaborations in the US and EU.

Role Description

The role will cover development and validation of advanced MRI biomarkers, supporting product development including coding, writing documentation and testing under management from the CTO, and collaborating with external partners on clinical studies for evidence generation. We are a small team who share responsibilities so other technical tasks will arise. This is a full-time role based 3/days week at our office in Stockwell on a 6 month fixed-term maternity cover with the anticipation of converting to a permanent full-time role.

Essential requirements

• Masters or PhD in a relevant field with experience of MRI neuroimaging
• Excellent Python skills, both for software development and data analysis
• Strong statistical / data science skills within a medical context
• Knowledge of git source control
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with neuroimaging packages such as FSL, FreeSurfer

Nice-to-have requirements

• Experience in medical software product development
• Experience in product testing, including validation of software systems
• Knowledge of medical imaging standards and/or operating within quality management systems
