Infrastructure Manager

Our Reading based client is seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Manager to join their business on a permanent basis. As the Infrastructure Manager you’ll report directly into the MD and be responsible for a Junior Engineer. This role is fully remote with occasional travel to their Reading based Data Centre as required.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for running, maintaining and supporting the Company’s infrastructure. This includes Internal Company servers, networking and communications for the company’s departments Company data centres and rack systems. Support, investigation and resolution of the issues with Company’s systems. Company’s phone system. Providing 24x7 cover for the Company data centre systems and managing the IS department and Engineers.

Skills and Experience Required:

This role involves providing reports on how the company infrastructure can be improved and the direction it could be taking in the future. This includes:

• Support investigation and resolution of issues with the company products

• Ongoing review and direction of support practices

• Departmental reporting and documentation of support status Management of the support staff

• Management of customer relationships and expectations support, investigation and resolution of the issues with company’s systems

• Providing 24x7 cover for the company systems

• All processes must be documented to a high standard, such that they could be customer facing should the need arise

• Additionally, it involves providing customer facing reports for all customers on how the company systems have performed to SLA

• Managing, monitoring and improving our ISMS to uphold our ISO27001 certification

Required Technical Experience or Understanding:

• CISCO hands on experience or training. (firewalls, switches & routers)

• Windows Server

• TCP/IP network familiarity, DNS, DHCP, VPN.

• Web Hosting & Microsoft IIS

• SQL Server Administration (backing up databases, running scripts and job scheduling).

• Hyper-V

• Active directory, group policy

• Failover clustering and Replication technologies

• Managing and maintaining Backups

• Powershell & Scripting

• Azure and/or AWS Cloud

• Docker Administration

• Linux
