IT Support Technician (Apprenticeship)
Job summary
Queen Square Medical Practice are looking for a self-motivated, experienced individual looking to develop their knowledge and formalise their skills with a higher-level qualification. The successful candidate will support the IT lead in ensuring the businesss critical systems are operational, as well as troubleshooting software and hardware issues. We welcome applications from career changers or those with existing GP Practice / IT experience.
Main duties of the job
- Support day-to-day IT operations, including network, hardware, and software support.
- Provide support for business-critical systems alongside and in the absence of the IT Lead.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving IT issues promptly to minimise downtime.
- Document IT procedures and maintain up-to-date operational guides.
- Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, and software implementations.
- Undertake relevant training and development activities as part of the apprenticeship.
- Support the management of IT security protocols, data backups, and compliance measures.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- - GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths Grade C/4 or above
- - Formal IT qualifications (GCSE, Level 2 IT)
Experience
- - Evidence of ongoing personal development
- - Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- - Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- - Strong organisational skills, with ability to prioritise and multitask
- - Attention to detail and accuracy when inputting data
