IT Support Technician
Job summary
Queen Square Medical Practice are looking for a self-motivated, confident and enthusiastic IT support technician.
Main duties of the job
- Support day-to-day IT operations, including hardware and software support.
- Develop and maintain practice website pages.
- Provide support for business-critical systems alongside and in the absence of the IT Lead.
- Diagnose and resolve technical faults and issues promptly to minimise disruption to services.
- Document IT procedures and maintain up-to-date guides.
- Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, and software implementations.
- Support the management of IT security protocols, data backups, and compliance measures.
- Provide basic IT training and guidance to staff to ensure and promote effective system use.
- Diagnose and resolve technical faults and issues promptly to minimise disruption to services.
- Liaise with secondary and external IT support as required.

Queen Square Medical Practice are looking for a self-motivated, confident and enthusiastic IT support technician. The successful candidate will support the IT lead in ensuring the business's critical systems are operational, as well as troubleshooting software and hardware issues, supporting day to day activities and digital services.
Person Specification
Experience
- Good understanding of IT basics and troubleshooting (hardware, software, web design and maintenance)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Eagerness to learn and develop practical IT skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively and follow instructions
- Reliable, responsible, and organised
- Experience in healthcare IT systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, EMIS, or similar systems
- Experience in an IT support role
- Awareness of GDPR and data protection principles
- Understanding of business continuity planning
- Formal IT qualifications (GCSE, Level 2 IT)
