Analytics Engineer – Retail

Location: Central London (hybrid working - 3 days onsite)

Contract: 6 months initially, starting ASAP

Day Rate: £500 - £550 per day Inside IR35 (TBC)

We're looking for a talented Analytics Engineer to help shape the future of data at one of the UK's leading retail organisations. This is your chance to work with a dynamic team and cutting-edge technologies, driving real impact through data-driven insights and innovation.

What You'll Do

As an Analytics Engineer, you'll sit at the intersection of data engineering, architecture, and analytics — turning raw data into reliable, well-modelled, and business-ready insights.

You'll:

  • Design, build, and maintain robust data models and pipelines across Snowflake, DBT, and Azure/AWS environments
  • Implement scalable Data Vault architectures to enable flexible and efficient analytics
  • Write and optimise complex SQL for performance, scalability, and accuracy
  • Collaborate with Data Architects, Engineers, and Analysts to deliver trusted data solutions
  • Ensure data quality and governance through validation, monitoring, and automation
  • Translate business needs into actionable data models and insights that empower decision-making

What You'll Bring

  • Proven expertise in Python, SQL, Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, Data Modelling, and Data Vault
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and modern data architecture
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern data engineering practices
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Background in retail data or large-scale data environments is highly desirable

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to Power BI or MicroStrategy
  • Experience with Terraform / Terragrunt
  • Interest in Generative AI and automation in analytics
