Our client, a top global organization, is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to join a busy End User Services team supporting a large enterprise environment across multiple UK sites. As a Desktop Support Engineer, you will act as the face of IT for end users, providing technical support across desktop, mobile, authentication, and workplace technologies.
Working within a multi-site support team, you'll resolve incidents, support digital workplace rollouts, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite desktop and end-user support across multiple UK locations
- Support BYOD connectivity and Wi-Fi onboarding
- Assist users with application installation, configuration, and authentication
- Support MFA registration and authentication troubleshooting
- Resolve password resets, account lockouts, and access-related issues
- Manage incidents, requests, and service tickets through to resolution
- Configure and support Windows desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
- Provide L1 support for audio/video and meeting room technologies
- Work with vendors such as HP and Dell to resolve hardware issues
- Contribute to knowledge articles, problem management, and service improvements
- Support digital workplace and application rollout initiatives
- Participate in major incident and security response activities where required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong Desktop Support / End User Support experience
- Windows 10 / Windows 11 administration and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting laptops, desktops, printers, and connectivity issues
- Strong Microsoft 365 and authentication support experience
- Experience with password management, MFA, and user access support
- Familiarity with ITSM and ticket management systems
- Experience supporting mobile devices and workplace applications
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Experience
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Experience within large enterprise environments
- Audio/Visual and meeting room support
- Knowledge of problem management and root cause analysis
- Experience supporting multi-site organisations
- Experience working within manufacturing or operational environments
