Technical Application Service Specialist (TASS) – Mobile Security

📍 Bristol (Hybrid -2 days onsite) 💰 £500/day (Inside IR35) | 📅 6-Month Contract

Our client, a top global organization, is seeking a Technical Application Service Specialist (TASS) to support mobile application security services and ensure reliability, scalability, and operational excellence across production environments. This role sits within a mobile security engineering team, responsible for delivering a suite of security components and associated services that protect mobile applications and supporting platforms. You will act as a senior SME across service operations, incident management, and service engineering.

  • Work on enterprise-scale mobile security services supporting critical applications
  • Drive SRE and service engineering best practices across production systems
  • Play a key role in service strategy, reliability, and automation initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as SME for resolving complex service issues and escalations
  • Take accountability for service availability, performance, and stability
  • Lead incident recovery and minimise business impact
  • Support 24/7 operational service requirements
  • Apply automation and software engineering to improve reliability
  • Balance feature releases with system stability
  • Identify opportunities for service automation and transformation
  • Improve scalability and production resilience
  • Lead problem management reviews following major incidents
  • Identify service gaps and implement operational improvements
  • Contribute to service strategy and operational standards
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve production issues
  • Use scripts, tools and automation to investigate incidents
  • Support multiple technology products and services
  • Work across engineering, operations and security teams
  • Provide training and coaching to team members

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in Technical Application Support / Service Engineering / SRE
  • Experience supporting production-critical applications
  • Strong incident management and problem management experience
  • Experience with automation, scripting and operational tooling
  • Knowledge of service reliability engineering (SRE) practices
  • Experience troubleshooting complex distributed systems
  • Strong stakeholder collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to lead escalations and major incident recovery

Desirable Skills

  • Experience supporting mobile applications or mobile security platforms
  • Exposure to DevOps / CI/CD environments
  • Monitoring and observability tooling experience
  • Experience working in financial services / regulated environments
  • Knowledge of performance and availability optimisation
