Our client, a leading global organisation, is looking for an experienced Test Architect to lead the definition and governance of enterprise-wide testing strategy, architecture, and quality engineering standards across large-scale transformation programmes. As the Test Architect, you will be responsible for shaping end-to-end testing strategy across complex enterprise environments, ensuring quality is embedded throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the end-to-end test architecture, including frameworks, environments, tooling, and test data strategy
  • Establish enterprise-wide testing standards, governance, and best practices
  • Design and implement automation frameworks across UI, API, mobile, performance, and security testing
  • Evaluate and recommend testing tools and technologies; lead modernisation initiatives and PoCs
  • Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
  • Define approaches for non-functional testing, including performance, resilience, accessibility, and security
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to QA teams and test engineers
  • Collaborate with developers, solution architects, DevOps teams, and stakeholders to drive quality by design
  • Review test metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to support continuous improvement
  • Ensure testing practices align with regulatory, security, and audit requirements where applicable

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in software testing / quality engineering
  • 3–5 years in a Test Architect or Test Lead capacity
  • Strong expertise with automation frameworks such as:
  • Selenium
  • Playwright
  • Cypress
  • REST Assured
  • Experience testing APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, SDLC, DevOps, and CI/CD practices
  • Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as:
  • Apache JMeter
  • Gatling
  • Programming/scripting experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Knowledge of containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI-driven testing tools and test analytics
  • Domain experience in Banking, Insurance, Utilities, Telecoms, or Healthcare
  • Certifications such as ISTQB Advanced/Test Architect, SAFe, or cloud certifications
