Head of IT
Quest Search and Selection is currently hiring for a Head of IT who is responsible for the delivery, stability, and continuous improvement of core technology services, including infrastructure, business applications, end-user support, and cyber operations. The role ensures services remain secure, reliable, and aligned with the needs of retail, digital, and central business functions. The position also supports the Chief Financial Officer in driving technology-led transformation across the organization.

Responsibilities of this Head of IT position:
- Oversee the performance, reliability, and availability of all technology services across infrastructure, applications, end-user services, and cyber operations.
- Be part of the SLT leading a team of 5 direct reports under the differing IT verticals, with a larger team underneath
- Lead service management, ensuring effective monitoring, incident resolution, and continuous service improvement.
- Support in operational leadership, providing insight on risks, capacity, and technology readiness.
- Lead cyber security operations, including threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Ensure the stability, resilience, and scalability of core infrastructure, networks, cloud platforms, and end-user devices.
- Oversee the support and performance of key business applications across core business functions.
- Lead service desk and store technology support to ensure reliable day-to-day operations.
- Provide leadership to technology teams, ensuring clear structure, capability development, and effective resource planning.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and partners to ensure strong service delivery and compliance.
To be successful in this Head of IT position:
- Ideally having 10+ years’ experience in technology operations, infrastructure, or IT service delivery within complex or multi-site environments.
- You must be operating at a Head of level, where you have a number of different business unit reports such as Cyber Security, Store Technology, Help-desk support, in-house development team etc.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure including networks, cloud platforms (Azure), servers, and endpoint support.
- Proven experience leading and developing multidisciplinary technology teams.
- Ability to understand technology architecture, integrations, and service dependencies.
- Experience coordinating infrastructure, service desk, application support, and cyber security functions.
- Strong understanding of operational risk, service resilience, and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with ERP, POS, workforce management, or retail systems is essential
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow) and automation platforms (PowerShell, Power Platform) is desirable.
