Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Questech Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing business looking for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical Bias to join their engineering team.
Salary: Up to £58,000
Shifts: Rolling 3-shift pattern, Monday to Friday
06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 / 22:00–06:00
The Role
You will be responsible for providing both reactive and planned maintenance support across a fast-paced production environment, working on a range of modern production and packaging equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reactive maintenance and attending breakdowns to minimise production downtime
- Planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs
- Working with PLCs to diagnose and resolve equipment faults
- Maintenance of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Identifying recurring faults and implementing corrective actions
- Supporting continuous improvement projects to improve reliability, efficiency and output
- Installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
- Carrying out plant and machinery inspections
- Working closely with production teams to maximise machine utilisation
- Supporting improvements to safety, changeovers and equipment performance
- Ensuring all engineering work meets required Health & Safety and Quality standards
The Person
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer / Electrical Maintenance Engineer
- Is electrically biased with strong mechanical capabilities
- Has experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Is qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Has completed a recognised/time-served engineering apprenticeship
- Has strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Has experience working with PLC-controlled production equipment
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations would be desirable
Shift Pattern
The current shift pattern is a Monday to Friday rolling rota:
- 06:00 – 14:00
- 14:00 – 22:00
- 22:00 – 06:00
There is the possibility that the business may move to a 7-day Panama shift pattern in the future, so applicants must be comfortable with this potential change.
