Apprentice Industrial Machine Electrician
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, has an interest in electrical systems and machinery, and wants to learn from experienced engineers in a practical industrial environment.
Role
You will receive structured on-the-job training alongside your formal apprenticeship studies, developing an understanding of industrial electrical systems, control panels, sensors, motors, drives, PLCs and machine control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the electrical assembly and wiring of industrial machinery and automation systems.
- Learn to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
- Assist with the construction and wiring of electrical control panels.
Install electrical components, sensors, motors, switches and control equipment. - Assist with machine installation, testing and commissioning.
- Learn how to fault-find and diagnose electrical and control system issues.
- Carry out electrical testing under the supervision of qualified engineers.
- Assist with machine modifications, upgrades and preventative maintenance.
- Develop an understanding of PLC-controlled machinery and industrial automation.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow company procedures, health and safety requirements and relevant electrical standards.
Training
Training will be Block release between MTC Training in Coventry and Our site in Worcester so please be mindful you will need to be able to commute to both locations.
Full-time opportunity may be available after the apprenticeship.
