Microsoft & Cybersecurity Engineer – Somerset (Onsite, Inside IR35)

We’re supporting a partner with a short-term requirement for a Microsoft & Cybersecurity Engineer to assist with both infrastructure and security operations. This is a hands-on, blended role requiring someone confident across the Microsoft ecosystem who can also provide technical input on cybersecurity matters.

Key Responsibilities / Requirements:

• Microsoft ecosystem: Microsoft 365, Entra, Exchange (on-prem & cloud)
• Active Directory, AD Sync, Windows 7–11
• Windows Server: 2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022, 2025
• ManageEngine Central and SentinelOne
• Secureworks / Taegis (SIEM)
• Endpoint and server patching
• Ability to see technical issues through to resolution
• Confidence to research and troubleshoot independently
• Act as a technical escalation point for Cyber Analysts



The Role:

You’ll work closely with the internal IT and cybersecurity teams, assisting with queries across both disciplines. The customer understands this isn’t a role for a deep specialist in either area — they’re seeking a well-rounded engineer with solid Microsoft infrastructure experience and good working knowledge of cybersecurity tools and practices.
