Financial Controller Hybrid - Interim

RG Consultancy are currently working with a technology business based in Manchester who are recruiting for a Financial Controller to support a department restructure. The is an exciting new hands-on role for an experienced Financial Controller to step into a key position within the finance team. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned FC or FD-level professional who excels at quickly taking ownership, providing stability, and supporting the smooth transition of responsibilities across the team. No direct team management is required for this role, however communication across the team is key

The successful candidate will be a solid pair of hands with a strong track record in financial control, transaction processing, and accounts preparation.

Role Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the finance function during a period of departmental restructuring
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly management accounts
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including transaction processing and reconciliations
• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies
• Support through the year end and audit process
• Provide hands-on support across all areas of finance as needed
• Collaborate effectively with the wider finance team to ensure smooth transition of responsibilities
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Act as a key point of contact for finance-related queries across the business
• Support the Finance Director with ad-hoc reporting and project work

Person Specification

• Strong systems/IT knowledge and experience is essential
• Experience with SAGE X3 would be desirable but not essential
• Fully CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified
• Experience within interim or FTC work and particularly involved with system implementation or departmental restructures
