An East London Local Authority is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of strategic Modern Workplace initiatives as part of its Technology Roadmap.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile transformation programme, delivering enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 technologies that enhance collaboration, security and user experience across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the delivery of Technology Roadmap projects with a focus on Modern Workplace technologies, including Microsoft 365, Identity, Endpoint Management and SharePoint Online.
- Coordinate cross-functional technical teams, third-party suppliers and business stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, RAID logs and governance documentation.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with Microsoft 365 best practices, security standards and compliance requirements.
- Provide regular governance reporting to the Modern Workplace Board, including progress updates, delivery status, risks, issues and key decisions.
- Ensure all project outputs comply with organisational governance, architecture standards and programme requirements, working closely with Architecture and Programme leadership.
- Oversee the successful delivery of Modern Workplace initiatives, ensuring effective user adoption, change management and smooth transition into operational support.
- Support programme decision-making and escalation processes by providing clear recommendations and facilitating the resolution of complex delivery challenges.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering Modern Workplace and Microsoft 365 transformation projects within large, complex organisations.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 technologies, including Identity, Endpoint Management (Intune), SharePoint Online and the wider M365 ecosystem.
- Demonstrable experience managing project governance, planning, budgeting and reporting within structured delivery environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage technical teams, senior leadership and business users.
- Experience delivering projects through the full project lifecycle, from initiation through to transition into service.
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within Local Government or the wider Public Sector.
- PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM or equivalent project management qualification.
- Experience supporting organisational change and end-user adoption initiatives.
