Shift Engineer

Location: Woking
Salary: 48,000 - 50,000

We are seeking a Shift Engineer to support the safe and reliable operation of a mission-critical data centre environment. You'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and monitoring electrical and mechanical infrastructure, ensuring uptime and excellent service delivery. This role involves working within a shift rotation and supporting both planned and reactive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, testing, and monitoring of critical plant and systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical & mechanical faults and respond to incidents.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure compliance with site procedures.
• Maintain documentation, asset records, and operating procedures.
• Support planning and execution of critical switching, isolation, and maintenance activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous service improvement.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Background in data centres or mission-critical environments.
• Strong working knowledge of:
  • HV/LV distribution, UPS, Generators
  • Chillers, CRAC/CRAH, pumps, cooling systems
  • BMS control & monitoring systems
• Practical experience with electrical and/or mechanical fault finding.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 shift environment.
• Vocational / Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical discipline.
