Advanced Technical Engineering Apprenticeship
Role
We are looking for apprentices in the following locations: Belfast, East London, Sheffield, Gateshead, Lothian (Scotland).
Year one
You will attend a local college, learning the fundamentals of engineering and focusing on the necessary skills to prepare you for the role. Outside of term time you will start to shadow our highly-skilled engineers on field visits to customers’ laboratories in your local region. These activities will be coordinated by an assigned apprentice mentor.
Year two
You will start to put your understanding into practice. For four days a week you will shadow our engineers, assisting them with field visits in your local region. You will learn many skills, such as diagnosing faults with the equipment and implementing solutions. You will also get the opportunity to visit our head office and state-of-the-art training facilities in Sussex. One day a week will be spent back at your local college, working towards your qualifications.
Year three and four
You will continue to attend college one day a week, completing your studies. For the remainder of the week you will be on rotation within the field, understanding new diagnostic tests, consolidating your learning and gaining more responsibilities along the way. Following a successful apprenticeship you will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position within our expert engineering team, where a suitable role is available.
As driving will be part of this role, you will be expected to either have or be working towards obtaining a driving licence before the second year starts.
