Technical Operations Specialist

We are looking for a Technical Operations Specialist to join a team of dedicated operators providing digital asset management services for one of our core global content creation clients.

The role will supervise and advise on workflows from camera through final delivery. They will collaborate with Productions to implement on-set and post-production content pipelines, review and approve camera packages and shooting specs, and work with suppliers to ensure technical requirements are met while researching, testing, ensuring requirements are conveyed and understood, and troubleshooting new technologies and equipment. This requires troubleshooting digital asset systems for file movement, archive, and playback, providing daily support of internal digital distribution pipelines, and maintaining tracking systems, spreadsheets and asset databases. Quality control of media assets and ensuring all security and anti-piracy policies are followed is essential.

The role is full-time, Central London based and will require a minimum of 3 days a week in the office. This is a shift based role, 40 hours a week, with occasional weekend working.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise, and collaborate with all productions regarding technology implementation (on-set and in post), content pipelines, and equipment in the full process
  • Conduct camera and vendor assessment and advisement on a per-project basis
  • Work with the post-production & production teams on various pipeline, playback, workflow projects, and other post production technology endeavors
  • Ensure all security and anti-piracy policies, protocols, and approvals are followed
  • Troubleshoot technical problems for internal teams and external productions
  • Maintain, manage, and troubleshoot asset movement and asset systems for (both in-cloud and on-prem)
  • Perform new technology testing as needed in order to confirm workflow and implementation of technology for production and supplier use

Knowledge & skills:

  • Experience of a minimum of 5 years working within post-production essential
  • A thorough understanding of offline and finishing workflows for picture and sound – including Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos
  • A thorough understanding of camera capture and dailies
  • Knowledge of post production solutions for offline and online – Avid, Flame, Premiere, Baselight, Resolve, Nucoda, etc.
  • Understanding of AWS and other cloud resources and terminology – S3, IAM, EC2, Cloud Formation, etc
  • Proven experience delivering to UK & international broadcasters and streamers
  • Must be detail oriented and well organised
  • Maintain discretion working with sensitive materials
  • A great communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Technically inclined with a desire and ability to learn new emerging technologies.
  • Comprehensive problem solving skills with an ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Responsible and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Takes initiative and sees tasks through to completion.
  • Experience of working with Avid, Adobe or Black Magic editing toolsets would be advantageous
