Radiodetection, part of SPX Technologies , is looking for an experienced Principal Software Architect to shape the future of its connected software ecosystem across firmware, cloud, desktop, and mobile platforms.
This is a high-impact role focused on improving architectural consistency, modernising legacy systems, and driving scalable IoT-style solutions across a complex engineering environment.
You will work closely with engineering leadership and domain teams to define technical direction, align technologies, and ensure systems evolve in a scalable and maintainable way.
What Youll Be Doing
Define end-to-end architecture across embedded devices, cloud, mobile, and desktop
Drive architectural standards and major technical decisions
Reduce technical debt and support legacy modernisation
Align teams around scalable engineering practices
Validate ideas through lightweight prototyping and experimentation
Support the adoption of modern tooling, including AI-assisted development
What Were Looking For
Experience in software engineering with significant architecture experience
Strong background in distributed/cloud-connected systems
Experience integrating hardware or embedded systems with software platforms
IoT, telecoms, or connected device experience preferred
Strong stakeholder management and technical leadership skills
Comfortable balancing greenfield development with legacy environments
