QA - Device Tester

Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Device Tester to join the Quality Assurance team in our thriving vehicle telematics business. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive testing of our telematics devices, and their interaction with our SaaS telematics platforms, to ensure they meet our rigorous quality standards and specifications.It’s a role that requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently within a structured testing environment.Based from our telematics head office at Arden Square, Crewe, you will play a crucial role in identifying defects, documenting issues, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our telematics products.Although the role forms part of our inhouse software development function, it has significant interdependencies with our hardware team.Please note to be able to fully test our devices, you will need access to your own vehicle and a full, clean, UK driving license.What you’ll be doing...Executing systematic and thorough testing of devices across various configurations and scenarios to identify defects and inconsistenciesDeveloping, documenting, and maintaining detailed test cases and test plans in accordance with established QA protocolsAnalysing test results and documenting findings in a clear, organised manner using bug tracking systemsPerforming both manual and automated testing procedures to ensure comprehensive device coverageCollaborating with development and product teams to communicate issues, clarify requirements, and verify resolutionsMaintaining meticulous records of all testing activities, including test execution logs and defect reportsIdentifying patterns in device failures and providing analytical insights to support process improvementsEnsuring compliance with quality standards and best practices throughout the testing lifecycleConducting regression testing to verify that fixes do not introduce new issuesParticipating in induction and training programmes to stay current with new testing methodologies and device technologiesWhat we’re looking for...Required skills and experience:Proven experience in quality assurance or device testing environmentsStrong knowledge of testing methodologies and QA best practicesProficiency in creating and executing test cases with meticulous attention to detailExperience with bug tracking and defect management systemsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong organisational and time-keeping skillsAbility to document findings clearly and communicate technical issues effectivelyUnderstanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)Knowledge of mobile or hardware device testingFull clean, driving license and access to your own vehicleDesirable skills and experience:Experience with automated testing tools and frameworksFamiliarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) environmentsExperience with performance and load testingPrevious experience working within an agile development environmentKnowledge of accessibility and compliance testing standardsWhat you can expect from us...Meaningful workYou’ll be contributing to critical telematics products that support thousands of businesses globally.A standout workspaceBased in our purpose-built Telematics HQ at Arden Square, Crewe, you’ll enjoy:Modern, collaborative workspacesOnsite pizzeria, café, and barista stationA unique rooftop barAnd yes...
