Key Responsibilities

Governance & Framework

  • Support the DPO in reviewing and updating privacy governance structures to ensure global alignment and local compliance.
  • Oversee the maintenance of Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) and ensure documentation remains current and accurate.
  • Support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs/DPIAs) and advise on mitigations and control design
  • Deputise for the Group DPO where relevant.

Operational Data Protection

  • Manage and respond to data subject rights requests (DSARs), including access, erasure, and rectification requests.
  • Support the investigation and response to personal data breaches, ensuring timely escalation and reporting to the DPO.
  • Coordinate privacy reviews for new products, systems, and suppliers to ensure data protection by design and by default.
  • Support cross-border data transfer assessments and ensure compliant use of transfer mechanisms.

Advisory & Collaboration

  • Serve as the first point of contact for business and operational teams seeking advice on privacy matters.
  • Work closely with all Divisional teams, with focus on IT, Information Security, Legal, People, and Marketing functions to ensure privacy compliance is embedded into day-to-day operations.
  • Support vendor management processes by conducting privacy due diligence on third-party suppliers and processors.
  • Provide structured privacy reporting and insights to senior stakeholders.

Training & Awareness

  • Develop and deliver data protection training materials and awareness campaigns across all business units.
  • Maintain training completion records and support divisional compliance attestations.
  • Contribute to internal communications and updates to promote a culture of data protection awareness.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Support privacy audits, assurance reviews, and monitoring activities to evaluate compliance effectiveness.
  • Provide metrics and management information to the DPO and senior leadership.
  • Assist in regulatory interactions or information requests from data protection authorities when required.
  • Lead horizon scanning to identify and assess upcoming data protection regulatory developments and their business impact.

What You Will Bring

  • Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and understanding of other global data privacy frameworks.
  • Proven operational experience managing data protection compliance within a multinational organisation.
  • Hands-on experience managing DSARs, DPIAs, breach responses, and ROPAs.
