The digital world offers a unique language for students who often find traditional classroom settings challenging. In this role, based in Stockport, you will use Creative iMedia to bridge the gap between education and engagement for learners with SEMH and SEND needs. By focusing on project-based learning and practical digital skills, you provide students with a tangible way to express themselves and build a career path in a field they genuinely enjoy.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver OCR Cambridge National Creative iMedia lessons to Key Stage 4 pupils.
  • Teach a secondary subject across Key Stage 3 and 4, such as Maths, Science, Computing, IT, Art, or Business.
  • Adapt complex technical concepts into accessible, practical lessons for pupils with diverse learning needs.
  • Utilise trauma-informed and relational approaches to maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the Quality of Education team to design a curriculum that reflects current digital trends.
  • Support the potential expansion of the department into BTEC Esports or other modern digital qualifications.
  • Track pupil progress and contribute detailed insights during EHCP review processes.
  • Work alongside teaching assistants and external professionals to meet the social and emotional goals of each learner.
  • Lead enrichment activities, digital projects, and off-site visits to broaden pupils' horizons.
Requirements
  • Hold QTS, PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
  • Possess a strong background in Creative iMedia, Computing, IT, Art, or a related digital discipline.
  • Demonstrate experience or a deep interest in supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Competency in using a variety of digital tools and a willingness to learn new software.
  • Ability to plan and differentiate lessons for a wide range of academic abilities.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and a collaborative approach to staff teamwork.
  • Valid right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available for this position).
  • Availability to start in June 2026.
