Data Engineer - Leicester (12 months Contract, Hybrid)

Are you a skilled Data Engineer passionate about delivering top-notch data products and frameworks that drive business success? My client is on the lookout for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team on a contract basis for 12 months.

You'll have the opportunity to work on exciting things in the FMCG sector that have a real impact on our business and beyond.

As a member of our data engineering team, you'll be responsible for:

• Delivering data pipelines and products that support our business operations and scientific endeavors, ensuring clear documentation on specifications and a deep understanding of each solution at the data, technical, and business process levels.
• Implementing data engineering best practices to standardize the development process and ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Ensuring that high-quality data is presented to our researchers from the products you deliver, and maintaining data dictionaries in the data catalog.

Essential Skills:

• Expertise in designing and implementing data pipelines, particularly using Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and DBT.
• Hands-on experience in SQL database design.
• A comprehensive understanding of modern enterprise IT practices, with a focus on system and product integration, micro-services, data management, and data lakes.
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management principles and tools (e.g., DevOps, Terraform), as well as relational database manipulation and interrogation.
