Fullstack Engineer

The Opportunity: In this role, you will join our Search & Discovery squad in Manchester as a hands-on Full Stack Engineer. Working alongside technical leads, product managers, and UI/UX designers, you will build and enhance features that power our core customer search experience and new discovery interfaces.

Your Impact

• Feature Delivery: Build responsive, high-performing user interfaces using React and TypeScript, seamlessly integrated with Java backend microservices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with UI/UX specialists to turn wireframes into robust, production-ready web features.
• Agile Engineering: Engage actively in pair programming, sprint discussions, and live coding sessions to solve frontend and backend challenges.
• Code Quality & Stability: Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to maintain high release standards and minimize technical debt.

Your Experience

• Professional Background: 2-4 years of practical software development experience with a solid grounding in computer science fundamentals.
• Core Technical Stack: Strong working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Java, alongside REST APIs, JSON, and relational databases.
• Cloud & Tools: Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, specifically AWS.
• Mindset & Collaboration: Great team communication, a customer-focused approach to problem-solving, and comfort with hands-on technical evaluations.
