Software Engineer (Java/Fintech) | London | 6-Month Contract

Role: Backend Software Engineer Team: RegTech (Fintech Business Unit)



The Stack

  • Primary: Java (Expert level) & Microservices.
  • Data: Cassandra, Hadoop, MySQL.
  • Cloud: AWS (Kinesis, Step Functions, EC2).
  • Focus: Distributed systems, batch processing, and data integrity.


The Mission

Build and scale automated KYC/KYP (Know Your Customer/Partner) and regulatory compliance engines. You will own the lifecycle of services that handle identity verification, risk assessment, and onboarding for a global partner base.



Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years in server-side software development.
  • Architecture: Building highly scalable distributed systems and data pipelines.
  • Expertise: Unit/Integration testing, architecture reviews, and defining SLOs.
  • Mindset: "Can-do" attitude; able to bridge technical problems with regulatory needs.
  • Pluses: Experience in Fintech, Payments, or Security (AuthN/AuthZ).
