VAX COBOL Sr Lead Programmer

Senior Cobol Programmer - up to £60,000 - London plus Hybrid working

A large-scale organisation in London is urgently seeking a new Senior Cobol Programmer with experience of VMX/ VAX Operating Systems to join their team. As the successful candidate you must have:

• 10 years of experience in COBOL programming and VAXVMS development
• Strong COBOL programming skills
• Extensive experience with VAX/VMS operating system
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with COBOL applications and VAX/VMS systems
• Provide technical support to end users
• Develop maintain and enhance COBOL programs and applications running on
• VAX/VMS
• Write test and debug COBOL code according to specifications
• Familiar with VAX COBOL compiler and related utilities
• Experience with VAXVMS file systems and database management
• Experience with ICMS tool and with RDB Relational Database

Preferred Skills

• Experience with specific VAXVMS applications or industries
• Experience with other legacy technologies
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
