We are partnering with a global leader in medical technology, to find a highly experienced Privacy & AI Risk Contractor to support their cutting-edge Enterprise AI programme. In this highly visible role, you will sit within the Office of Ethics & Compliance, acting as the bridge between complex AI use cases and practical, global privacy risk management.
If you are a seasoned consultant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record of delivering privacy assessments for major enterprise logos-especially within the Healthcare, Life Sciences, Pharma, or Medical Device sectors-this is the perfect contract for you.
What You Will DoAs our AI Privacy SME, you will ensure that appropriate privacy controls are built into relevant AI solutions from design through implementation. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead AI Risk Assessments: Drive privacy risk assessments for prioritized enterprise AI projects, including Generative AI, LLMs, and machine learning use cases.
- Apply Governance Frameworks: Assess use cases against current privacy and AI risk frameworks (focusing on accountability, human oversight, third-party risk, transparency, and data use).
- Conduct Global Privacy Reviews: Execute Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs), and review complex cross-border data flows, model locations, and retention requirements.
- Embed Privacy by Design: Identify and document practical controls, mitigations, and actions across technology, process, and governance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Security, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Data, IT, and business owners to integrate privacy into AI risk registers and decision gates.
- Executive Advisory: Prepare clear, concise written risk assessments, escalation notes, and strategic recommendations for senior stakeholders.
We are looking for an independent, fast-paced contractor who can seamlessly translate complex technical and regulatory issues into clear business recommendations.
Essential Experience:
- SME-Level Expertise: Significant, global-scale professional experience in data privacy, AI governance, technology risk, or legal/compliance advisory.
- Enterprise Pedigree: Proven experience working with large, global enterprise logos.
- AI & Emerging Tech: Direct experience advising on the privacy risks associated with GenAI, ML, LLMs, and automated decision-making.
- Regulatory Mastery: Deep understanding of GDPR, UK GDPR, the EU AI Act, and international privacy requirements.
- Practical Assessment Skills: Extensive hands-on experience conducting DPIAs, TIAs, and vendor assessments across multiple jurisdictions.
Highly Desired:
- Industry Background: Previous experience working with big names in highly regulated sectors (Medical Devices, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or Pharmaceuticals) is a massive plus.
- Certifications: Privacy, compliance, or AI governance qualifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, AIGP, or equivalent.
